Them Japanese Like Their Cars..

So the estimated $400k Lexus LFA, the new headlining super car from the lexus line u,p has apparently sold out two months ahead of schedule. Not bad for an investment that will never make them any money (due to stupid high development and production costs - they will never break even and they don't care)....

---------------------------------------
The Lexus LFA may carry a considerable pricetag, especially for an automaker's first supercar, but that didn't stop the Japanese from scooping up their entire allotment of 165 cars (out of a total of 500) two months ahead of schedule.

According to Japanese website response.jp, the application window for prospective buyers was to be open from October 21, 2009 (just after the press days of the 2009 Tokyo Auto Show) to March 21, 2010, but was closed earlier today because every example of the 552-hp V-10 supercar was spoken for.

Unlike American buyers, who will only be able to get their LFAs on a two-year lease, Japanese buyers get to buy their cars outright, at the hefty price of 37,500,000 Yen, or roughly $410,000. And with at least 90 of the U.S.-bound cars already spoken for, it looks like Lexus is already more than halfway towards selling (or leasing) every last one.
